As Fire Prevention Month kicks off, it's time to prioritize safety and protection. Let’s take proactive measures by following these simple tips to help minimize the risk of fires.

1. Store Flammables. Safely Keep things like cleaning products, solvents, and fuels in well-ventilated areas away from heat sources and ignition points. Avoid placing it within the reach of children and implement a proper label.
2. Cook Carefully. Never leave cooking unattended, and keep flammable items away from the stove. Ensure cooking appliances are turned off after use.
3. Check Appliances and Wiring. Have your electrical appliances and wiring inspected regularly, and replace any damaged cords immediately. Avoid overloading circuits, which is a common cause of fires.
4. Clear Escape Routes. In the event of a fire, having clear escape routes can be lifesaving. Establish a fire escape plan and practice it regularly.
5. Remove Debris. Dry seasons can increase the risk of wildfires. Be extra vigilant during these periods, and keep your surroundings clear of dead vegetation.
6. Stay Informed. Educate household members and employees about fire safety practices and procedures. Take note of your local fire hazards and emergency protocols. Always keep emergency numbers handy and accessible.
Let's make Fire Prevention Month a time of action and awareness. Let’s help prevent fires and keep our homes and communities safe.
